Garden March
Bravely I marched through my garden
The snow was still there
The crocuses no where in sight
The only sign that spring was anywhere near
Were the birds singing chorus in the trees

Bravely I marched through my garden
Looking for signs of spring
The sky sunny and blue
The snow cold and white
While overhead birds flew
And sun rays danced

Bravely I marched through my garden
The sun already warm upon my face
My cat in a sunny patch on the window sill
Looking for greenery
That I still couldn’t see
While birds chorused in the trees

April Showers

Showers and showers
Raindrops splashing to the ground
Puddles all around.
Water running in streams
Making for daydreams
Of sunny, warm days
Green grass and trees
In their coat of leaves.
The colorful May flowers
Tulips, daffodils, forget-me-nots and such
So wonderful to look at, smell and touch.
Eagerly awaiting for lilacs to bloom
Chasing away the gloom
Which all these April showers
With their raindrops
Do promise.
